Warner Says He Doesn’t Have a Concussion
November 23rd, 2009 | by Hunter Ansley |
Warner's mind is still sharp, like that hair on the left.
Go ahead and take a deep breath… Matt Leinart.
You won’t have to start next week against the Tennessee Titans and your fellow 2006 draftee, Vince Young.
We can all breath easy, as well. After the tear that Warner has been on, there aren’t many QBs in the league that could come in and keep this streak going.
And, according to the man himself, there are no problems with concussions. Warner’s mind is as sharp as his wife’s Super Bowl hair. Something one reporter found out first hand when Warner cut him off mid-question to address his non-concussion.
“Easy now, easy,” Warner said, per Kent Somers of The Arizona Republic. “They were a long time ago. I’ve had a couple minor concussions. Nothing that has been prolonged. Haven’t had anything in a number of years.”
According to ProFootballTalk.com:
Some medical experts say there’s really no such thing as a “minor concussion,” but Warner says he has nothing to worry about on that front. According to Warner, his last concussion was six years ago, and he fully expects to play in the Cardinals’ next game. And he said sitting out the second half in the win over the Rams was just a matter of being cautious.
“We were smart with it; we didn’t take any chances,” Warner said. “I feel good. I think I’m going be just fine, but we’ll take it day by day.”
Arizona’s Super nemesis, the Pittsburgh Steelers, weren’t as fortunate on Sunday, as Ben Roethlisberger will apparently miss up to 6 weeks with a concussion of his own.
More on the win, and the emergence of Beanie and what that’s done for Tim Hightower later. But for now, a win, a healthy QB, and a firm hold of the division are nice ways to start the week.
